Professional development
It is important for teachers to be aware of developments in their own area of specialism as well as in literacy, language, numeracy and ICT. This involves a responsibility to keep up to date with current policies and to take part in professional development opportunities aimed at maintaining existing skills as well as developing new ones.
There are a number of professional development opportunities available through LLUK and QIA to cover a wide range of teacher needs. These may be accredited or non-accredited professional development opportunities.
