Welcome to Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) in the East Midlands.

The lifelong learning workforce in the East Midlands is estimated to consist of at least 57,916 staff. (This figure does not include those working in work based learning, parts of the community learning and development sector or volunteers and is based on standard industry classification codes.) Included in this figure are staff working in:

  • 10 higher education institutions
  • 27 further education providers
  • 90 work based learning providers
  • 15 local authority adult and community learning providers and
  • approximately 2,398 staff working in libraries, archives and information services.
