Lifelong Learning UK is actively involved in the development of information and learning technology (ILT) and e-learning. A huge amount of research and development is currently being undertaken and new initiatives started in ILT.

- Accessibility, Inclusion and ILT: A series of information leaflets, including guidance for disabled staff, can be obtained from BECTA or JISC TechDis Service
- ACL Community Learning Resource: Supports Adult and Community Learning (ACL) and includes information about the extension of the National Learning Network (NLN) to ACL and related news, content and resources, such as Technology to Enhance Adult and Community Learning (TrEACL) funding
- e-learning Standards in Action
- NLN Materials: 800+ hours of flexible, interactive learning are available across a range of curriculum areas
- Resource Discovery Network: a collaboration of 70+ educational and research organisations, including the Natural History Museum and the British Library, to collate resources, which are carefully selected, indexed and described by specialists in partner institutions and result in search results relevant to learning, teaching and research
