14-19 Diplomas

From September 2008, new diplomas for 14-19 year-olds will be introduced. LLUK is working with the Training and Development Agency (TDA) to produce support for the professional development of staff, within schools and colleges, who will deliver the diplomas.

The Diplomas are part of the programme of reforms set out in the 14-19 Education and Skills White Paper. The programme will be available in 17 disciplines of learning, allowing young people to gain the skills, knowledge and experience needed by a number of occupational sectors of the economy.

Diplomas will provide flexibility and choice for all learners through a unique mix of traditional and work-relevant learning. They have been developed in collaboration with employers to ensure their relevance, and are valued by employers and higher education institutions, as their combination of essential skills, relevant experience and applied learning provides an excellent grounding for careers.

Further information is available about this partnership, including key support documents.
