I would like to work in the lifelong learning sector
Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) is the independent employer-led sector skills council for community learning and development, further education, higher education, libraries, archives and information services, and work based learning. In short, we represent the interests of the 1 million+ individuals working in the lifelong learning sector across the UK.
Careers within lifelong learning are diverse and include the roles of teacher, tutor, trainer, assessor, verifier and all other administrative and support roles across the post-16 education sector.
For information about the qualifications you'll need to enter the sector and what it's like to be a teacher, tutor or trainer, or about teacher training and professional development, please contact the LLUK Information and Advice Service, which is staffed by experienced practitioners and teacher trainers, and provides free confidential, specialist advice on all aspects of working in the lifelong learning sector. You can telephone us on 020 7936 5798 or email us.
If are interested in entering the lifelong learning sector, you may be interested in the work of our subsidiary organisation, Standards Verification UK, which is responsible for verifying initial teacher training and is expanding its service to cover other forms of workforce training and development.
